Color: Males hold the beauty in this species, displaying bright cobalt blue colors with black outlined fins! Females are not as colorful and are more dull!
Description: This is another incredible beautiful mbuna cichlids...and like all mbuna it carries a bad attitude toward other fish especially of its own kind or similar looking to itself! The higher ranking male will generally display most color!

Color: Males display bright red, orange and yellow colors when dominate!
Description: This man-made cichlid is very beautiful and can make any African cichlid tank more enjoyable with its popping colors! However, like many African cichlids along with that beauty is a beastly attitude which makes these fish very aggressive!

Color:Females are silver with brown to black horizontal lines shooting across body. Males with turn blue to purple with a orange outline on fins!
Description: The Malawi eye biter is a very interesting fish. These fish are great hunters and and while eat anything small enough to fit in there mouth! Also they have a unique body shape making your aquarium more diverse.

Type: Hybrid Peacock cichlid
Origin: Lake Malawi, Africa
Size: 6 inches
Color: OB peacocks have a solid orange to white body with blotches of black, orange, purple and others colors covering body! Males tend to have much brighter colors while females are more dull.
Description: This fish is a hybrid peacock meaning that pure peacocks where mixed to produce the OB peacock. With such a mix, amazing colors and variations come from this fish!

Description: Johanni cichlid is a very aggressive cichlid from lake Malawi, just like its cousin the Auratus cichlid. With males the more dominate, the darker the color!

Holding Females
African cichlids are some of the worlds most amazing fish. One of the great abilities of these amazing fish is their parenting extremes.With fish, parents try many different ways to assure the survival of offspring, and many of the African cichlids of Africa's great rift lakes (Lake Malawi, lake Tanganyika and lake Victoria) have found a creative way to raise offspring by mouth brooding! Female African cichlids lay eggs, then scoop them into their mouth, then allows the male to fertilize the eggs in their mouth, and then raise the fry until they are old enough to fend for themselves!This mouth brooding behavior was mastered by the Africans cichlids, and now us fish keeps are able to witness it in our home aquariums! When a female is mouth brooding, we generally say that she is holding......lets see some of my holding females!

Type: Mbuna Cichlid
Origin: Lake Malawi, Africa
Size: 5 inches
Color: Females and juveniles are a grey with little color, but dominate males are a bright blue to whitish color having red or yellow along the top fin. Hongi cichlids are also known for their black bars across head!
Description: This fish is a very beautiful fish, not as aggressive as most mbuna but can be nasty at times!

Type: Hap Cichlid
Origin: Lake Malawi, Africa
Size: 10 inches
Color:Beautiful greenish yellow body with markings that resemble the markings on a giraffe! Mature males will produce a blue face!
Description: The venustus is simply an awesome hap african cichlids. These fish grow very large compared to other african cichlids, if you keep this fish, be sure to provide a large home!
